In the new book ‘The Story of Marvel Studios: The Making of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’ written by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, the Russo brothers, Joe and Anthony, revealed Robert Downy Jr.’s initial reaction to reading Iron Man’s death in the series. According to Business Insider, Joe said in the book, “When we started winding down the pitch, and getting to his death, Robert started crying. And when we were done, he said, ‘That’s f**king awesome.’ That’s when we knew that we had to do it. Because he felt it”. Robert’s Iron Man has become the most iconic character to a whole generation, from his suave to his story touched millions of hearts.
