Today, India’s current all formats skipper Virat Kohli completed 10 years in test cricket. He made his debut against West Indies on June 20, 2011 under the captaincy of Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Over the time he has evolved both as a batsman and captain. Currently he is leading India in the inaugural World Test Championship final against New Zealand and he becomes the only cricketer to feature in all ICC events final. He was the member of 2011 ODI World Cup winning team and 2014 T20 World Cup team, which lost the final to Sri Lanka and also the winning member of 2013 Champions Trophy squad. Now he is captaining India in the World Test Championship final. In this match he left behind MS as the most matches as a test captain for India. The final of WTC is his 61 test as a captain for India out of which he won 36 and lost 14.

As a test batsman, since debut, he has played a total of 92 Tests. In this he has scored 7534 runs at an average of 52.69 by scoring 27 centuries and 25 fifties.Started his career as a number 6 batsman, he has a fabulous batting record at number 4. In terms of scoring centuries he is just behind Sachin Tendulkar(51), Rahul Dravid(36) and Sunil Gavaskar(34).
