An ancient Egyptian mummy underwent a CT scan so researchers could learn about it’s past

The procedure was led by a radiology team at hospital in Milan, Italy.

Sabina Malgora, Director and Founder of Mummy Project Research said, It’s a sort of virtual autopsy. We can do a sort of fly through inside the mummy so we can study the mummy, we can reconstruct the life and the death of this person.

Inscription on the sarcophagus indicate that the mummy was likely a priest called Ankhekhonsu.

The mummy will undergo restoration and will be exhibited at the Civic Archaeological Museum in Bergamo, Italy.
