Former South Korean military dictator Chun Doo-hwan dies at 90

Former South Korean president, Chun Doo-hwan has died at the of 90 having ruled the country around the time of the infamous Gwangju massacre during his iron-fisted eight-year rule.

The former president had a health issue called multiple myeloma, a blood cancer which was in remission, and his health had deteriorated recently. Sources tell that he passed away at his Seoul home earlier in the day and then his body was taken from the hospital to the funeral later that day. He has been a significant figure in the political history of South Korea and always will be.
