Despite implementing a zero-tolerance policy against COVID-19, there has been a sudden rise in coronavirus cases in China. All of this has been hampering the country’s local businesses.

International Forum for Right and Security (IFFRAS) reported that Chinese authorities are concerned over the prolonged effect of lockdowns and restrictions on the local economies of the province as well as the national economy. According to Rulii, a southwestern border city’s former mayor, these prolonged lockdowns have sent the city into a deadlock having a deleterious impact on its local economy.
