In only 24 hours, Germany has seen a new high of 50,000 new Coronavirus cases.

According to health officials in Germany, a total of 50,196 new Covid-19 infections were recorded on Thursday.

It’s the first time Germany has surpassed 50,000 cases since the outbreak began, and it comes as infection and mortality rates have risen sharply in recent days.

The surge in infections has been termed as “dramatic” by outgoing Chancellor Angela Merkel.
Her spokeswoman stated, “The epidemic is returning in a new stunning fashion.”

As of Monday, Berlin will ban unvaccinated people from entering
restaurants, terraces, bars, sports halls, and hairdressers.
