India at UNSC asserts Terrorism still poses a huge threat in Afghanistan

India at the UNSC meeting said that terrorism is a grave and increasing threat to people in Afghanistan along with focusing on the international community’s expectation of the commitment made by Taliban to not use the resources and/or the land of the country for terrorism.

India’s ambassador at the UN, TS Tirumurti, told that Resolution 2593 states the expectations of the global community in means of a political statement with inclusion of all groups such as women, minorities and ethnic groups. He further added that the resolution records Taliban’s commitment to not use of Afghanistan’s soil for terrorism and likewise those designated under UNSCR 1267.
