Russia begins providing India with S-400 air defence missile systems, with the first squadron arriving near the Western Front.

The air defence system would provide India with a competitive advantage in South Asian skies, since it would be capable of intercepting hostile planes and cruise missiles from a distance of 400 kilometres.
“Russia has begun delivering India with the S-400 air defence system,” Russian Federal Service for Military-Technical Cooperation (FSMTC) Director Dmitry Shugaev stated at the Dubai Air Show. The Russian government’s major defence export control organisation is the FSMTC.
