On Sunday, June 21, An eight-year-old Dalit girl strangle to death in Pasgava area of Lakhimpur Kheri district, UP. Police also suspect the possibility of rape in the murder case. The girl went missing in the Afternoon while returning back to home from grazing goats. The family informed Police and the body of girl was recovered from a cane field. Forensic tests are going on to collect the evidence as the family didn’t put allegations against anyone. Along with rape charges, the police have also registered the case under POSCO Act (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act). Until now, no arrest has been made.
