On Thursday, India’s Covid toll crossed 4 lakh number and became only 3rd country to report over 4 lakh Covid deaths after the United States and Brazil. On paper, mortality rate of Covid succumbed in India is lowest among worst hit countries. India reported 287 deaths per million. India’ case fatality rate (deaths per 100 infection) is 1.3, which again is lowest among countries. India’ toll had been risen sharply during the peak of 2nd devastating wave of Covid.
