While the tussle between Twitter and the Indian government regarding the new IT rules is still amid a stand-off, it is likely that the company may have to face government actions again. An Indian map has been surfacing on the platform generating angry reactions by the netizens. It can be noticed that the ‘Tweep Life’ section of Twitter’s website shows J&K and Ladakh, outside India. This is the second time Twitter has misrepresented India’s map. Earlier, it had shown Leh as part of China. According to the sources, the government does not take the distortion of the country’s map lightly and considers it a serious offence. Hence, tough action may be taken.
