Punjab Government declares one-day holiday after demise of Milkha Singh

India’s flying Sikh, Milkha Singh succumbed to COVID-19 late night on Friday. After his demise, Punjab Government declares one day holiday. According to ANI, Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh said ” We’re giving him State funeral in Punjab & declared a one-day holiday. It’s a great loss for all of us. Younger generation will get inspired by him. We’re also going to have #Milkha Singh chair in Sports University, Patiala.”

Notably, CM Captain Amarinder Singh also visited Milkha Singh’s residence in Chandigarh on Saturday. Milkha Singh was known as “The Flying Sikh” and he was battling deadly COVID-19 virus since May 19. He passed away at the age of 91.
