Union Council of Ministers will hold a meeting on Wednesday evening, said sources. It has been reported by the sources that Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu and Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla are the special invitees at the meeting. In the interim, the Winter Session of Parliament is likely to commence from November 29 and continue till December 23.
This will be the last ‘chintan shivir’. As a matter of fact, chintan shivir is a series of deliberation sessions being held to help ministers better understand issues of governance, sources have said. Moreover, these meetings also act as an orientation programme for newly inducted ministers in the Union Cabinet. The last ‘chintan shivir’ will be on parliamentary practices and the upcoming session. Parliamentary Affairs Minister, Pralhad Joshi is anticipated to render a presentation, and special invites have been sent to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu to attend this meeting, the sources said.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conducting these sessions to make governance and its delivery system more effective and efficacious.
